Short answer: the free NBA 2K27 Zen scripts in YouTube titles are mostly 2K26 builds with a new name, leaked copies of paid scripts, or a hook to a paid Discord. Some of them green for a week. None of them get retuned when 2K patches, and 2K27 has patched three times in its first two weeks.

Where do free 2K27 Zen scripts come from?

• Leaked copies of paid scripts. A buyer shares their file. It works until the next patch, because the retune goes to the buyer's account, not to the copy. Leaked copies also get cut off when they're found, which is why the same link dies a week after the video goes up.
• The paid-Discord funnel. The video is free. The script is free to download. The version that actually works is in the Discord, behind a role you pay for. That's fine as a business model, but it isn't free.
• Unknown code. A .gpc file you can't read from an account you can't verify, flashed onto the device that sits between your controller and your console. Nobody supports it and nobody's accountable for it.

Why do they stop greening?

A Zen script can't see the game. It sends inputs on a timer, and the timer was measured in milliseconds against a specific animation on a specific build. When 2K patches animations or meter behavior, those measurements go stale and you start getting slightly-early and slightly-late releases on shots you used to bank.

2K27 makes this worse than any previous year, because your Tempo now decides the size of your Timing window. A script with no concept of Tempo was already at a disadvantage on launch day. After v1.3 on August 31 changed two Takeover abilities and with a bigger gameplay patch due before Season 2, a script nobody's remeasuring is on a countdown.
