Modern Warfare 4 Cronus Zen Script: Launch Day Guide

Modern Warfare 4 lands October 23 on PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2. Here is which of those the Cronus Zen actually covers, and what your Black Ops 7 values need before launch night.

Modern Warfare 4 lands on October 23, 2026, and if you already paid for a Call of Duty script you want one answer before launch day: does it come with you, or are you buying again? The second question is quieter but it costs more if you get it wrong, and that is which console you plan to play on.

Short answer: yes, a Call of Duty script carries over to MW4, because the Cronus Zen sits between your controller and your console as an ordinary input device and MW4 reads it the way every Call of Duty before it did. The Laser Elite COD Cronus Zen Script lists Black Ops 7, Warzone and most other FPS titles on its product page, on PS5, Xbox and PC.

The catch is platform. Cronus's own documentation states the Zen does not currently support the Nintendo Switch 2, so the Switch 2 build of MW4 is off the table no matter which script you own.

Does the Cronus Zen work on Modern Warfare 4?

On three of the four launch platforms, yes. Activision's announcement confirms MW4 ships on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, and that it is not coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One at all. That last part catches people out every year.

The Zen handles the first three the same way it handles any other shooter. The fourth is the problem, and it is a hardware limit rather than a script limit.

Platform MW4 at launch Cronus Zen
PlayStation 5 Yes Supported
Xbox Series X|S Yes Supported
PC Yes Supported
Nintendo Switch 2 Yes Not supported
PS4 and Xbox One No Not applicable

The Switch 2 answer comes straight from Cronus, not from a forum thread. Their official Switch 2 page says support is not currently available and tells readers to check back for future updates. The public firmware changelog backs that up, with no Switch 2 entry anywhere in it.

So if MW4 on Switch 2 was your plan, buying any script right now solves nothing. Play it on PS5, Xbox or PC if you want the Zen in the chain.

One PS5 detail worth checking before launch week

PS5 owners have an extra prerequisite that has nothing to do with MW4. Cronus documents that full native PS5 support needs the Zen LINK Wi-Fi Expansion Module, and that without it the controller disconnects from the console. They list the DualSense and the DualSense Edge as the supported pads, across PS5, PS5 Digital and PS5 Pro.

The older unofficial PS5 workaround is listed as no longer supported, so do not plan around it. Sort this out this week rather than at 9pm on launch night.

Will your Black Ops 7 settings work in Modern Warfare 4?

The script loads. The numbers inside it will be wrong, and that distinction is where most of the frustration comes from.

Anti-recoil on the Zen is a counter-input tuned against one specific recoil curve. MW4 rebuilt its weapon systems, so the curve your BO7 values were measured against no longer exists. Carrying those values over gives you overcorrection on some guns and nothing useful on others.

Laser Elite's product page lists per-weapon anti-recoil with adjustable values, tunable aim assist boosting, movement mods, and full auto weapon detection for BO7 without manual profile switching. It is $49.99 at time of writing, down from a $58.99 compare-at price, with updates after game patches included. The adjustable part is the bit that matters across a title change, because the mods stay and the values get redialed.

If you want the tuning method itself rather than the numbers, our Cronus Zen MW4 script setup and settings guide walks through dialing values from zero on a per weapon basis. The process transfers cleanly to the launch build even though the figures will not.

What changed in MW4 that affects how you tune?

Three things from Activision's own announcement will move your values around, and two of them keep moving after launch.

  • Gunsmith attachments are now shared by weapon class. A tune you build for one assault rifle should travel further across its class than it used to.
  • Gunny presets give you close, mid and long range builds. Swapping a preset changes your recoil behavior underneath a script that has no idea you did it.
  • Apex Attachments unlock by fully progressing a weapon. Your gun handles differently at max level than it did at level one, so a value set on day one needs revisiting later.
  • Movement got expanded mantling, climbing, hanging and jumping. Treat movement mods as something to test by hand rather than something to import.

Warzone matters here too. Activision confirmed that from Season 1 onward Warzone integrates MW4 content and seasonal progression as a connected experience. If Warzone is your main mode, your retune is coming whether you buy MW4 or not.

Launch day checklist

Do the first two steps now, not on October 23. Cronus lists them as the first steps of any Zen setup for a reason.

  1. Update your Zen firmware. It is step one of the official quick start, and skipping it is behind a large share of launch day setup failures.
  2. Update Zen Studio. Step two, and an outdated install is the usual reason a script refuses to compile.
  3. Load your script and confirm it compiles cleanly before the servers go live.
  4. Write your BO7 values down somewhere so you can rotate back between titles without rebuilding them from memory.
  5. Set your in game sensitivity and aim assist first, then tune the script on top of a fixed baseline.
  6. Start every weapon at zero vertical and raise in small increments against a wall until the pattern sits flat.

That last step takes about ten minutes per weapon and two or three properly dialed guns beat a dozen half done ones. People post working starting values and compare builds in the 30,000 member ScarZens Discord through launch week, which saves a lot of wall shooting.

Should you buy now or wait until October 23?

The obvious objection is that paying before launch means paying for a title you cannot play yet. That holds only if the script is MW4 exclusive, and this one is not.

Per its live product page Laser Elite covers Black Ops 7 and Warzone today, which is where everybody is until launch week. It carries a 4.9 rating from 625 reviews on the storefront and lists 600 plus Laser players. Updates after game patches are included, so the version you load on October 23 is not the version you bought in October.

If Fortnite is your other title, Luna Elite is the Fortnite script in the same range, also $49.99 at time of writing. The Switch 2 limitation above is a Zen hardware limit, so it applies to every script equally rather than being something one of them solves.

FAQ

Does the Cronus Zen work on Modern Warfare 4 on PS5?

Yes. MW4 launches on PlayStation 5 and the Zen works there as it does on any Call of Duty title. Cronus does document that full native PS5 support requires the Zen LINK module, so confirm you have that sorted before launch week.

Will the Cronus Zen work with MW4 on Nintendo Switch 2?

No. Cronus's official documentation states the Zen does not currently support the Nintendo Switch 2, and the public firmware changelog has no entry adding it. That is accurate as of October 13, 2026, and it applies to every script rather than any particular one.

Can I use my Black Ops 7 anti-recoil values in Modern Warfare 4?

The script will load but the values will be wrong. MW4 rebuilt its weapon and attachment systems, so the recoil curve those numbers were measured against has changed. Treat every weapon as a fresh tune and start from zero.

Do I need a brand new script for Modern Warfare 4?

Not if you already run a Call of Duty script with adjustable per weapon values. The Zen presents as a standard controller to MW4, so what you need is retuning rather than a different product. Be skeptical of anything marketed as MW4 exclusive before the game is even out.

Does Modern Warfare 4 work on PS4 or Xbox One?

No. Activision confirmed MW4 is not releasing on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Warzone also stops being playable on those consoles once Season 1 begins, so last generation players need a hardware upgrade regardless of scripts.
